Restrict embed

These features are only available to partners using the YouTube Studio content manager.

By default, Content Manager users can add YouTube videos to their websites and apps by embedding them. You can control where your videos are embedded by specifying which websites and apps to block or allow. These rules can apply to videos you own ( licensed content ) and videos you claim ( user-uploaded content ).

Note : Embed restrictions cannot be applied to iOS apps.

Restrict website integrations

  1. Log in to the Studio content manager.
  2. From the left menu, select Settings"" .
  3. In the Overview section , scroll down to Block integrations on domains .
  4. Click User-uploaded content XsbBCmzS0ULC5vXqarEcJMzZuBnPnODOrSNN and select the rule you want to apply to websites that embed user-uploaded videos claimed for one of your assets:
    • Allow on all domains (default) – No restrictions to embed on any website.
    • Allow on certain domains – Block embedding on all websites except specific websites that you type in the Domains text box.
    • Block on certain domains: Do not allow users to embed videos on specific websites that you enter in the Domains text box.
    • Block on all domains – Do not allow embedding videos on any website.
  5. Enter the URLs in the Domains text box (one domain URL per line).
  6. Click Licensed Content XsbBCmzS0ULC5vXqarEcJMzZuBnPnODOrSNN and select the rule you want to apply to websites that embed videos from your channels.
  7. Enter the URLs in the Domains text box (one domain URL per line).
  8. Click on SAVE .

Embed a video or playlist

  1. On a computer, navigate to the YouTube video or playlist you want to embed.
  2. Click SHARE To share .
  3. In the list of sharing options, click Embed .
  4. In the box that appears, copy the HTML code.
  5. Paste the code into your website’s HTML code.

Note:  If the viewer clicks or taps outside the embed and is redirected to another website or app, that website or app may track the viewer’s behavior in accordance with that website’s or app’s policies and terms. application.

Start an embedded video playback automatically

To autoplay an embedded video, add ” &autoplay=1 ” to the video’s embed code right after the video ID (the string of letters following “embed/”).

Embedded videos that play automatically do not increase video views.

Start an embedded video at a certain time

Add subtitles to an embedded video

Automatically display subtitles for an embedded video by adding ” &cc_load_policy=1 ” to the video’s embed code.

You can also choose a subtitle language for the embedded video. To specify the subtitle language of the video you want to embed, simply add ” &cc_lang_pref=en&cc_load_policy=1 ” to the video’s embed code.

  • “cc_lang_pref” defines the language of the subtitles displayed in the video.
  • “cc_load_policy=1” enables subtitles by default.
  • “fr” represents the language code for French. You can look up 2-letter language codes in the ISO 639-1 standard.

Disable embedding for your videos

If you’ve uploaded a video and don’t want to allow others to embed your video on external sites, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to YouTube Studio.
  2. From the left menu, select Content .
  3. Next to the video you want to manage, select Details pencil.
  4. At the bottom, select SHOW MORE .
  5. Uncheck the box next to “Allow embedding” and SAVE .
