Important: Compromised  passwords have been implicated in a data breach on a third-party website or application. Change compromised passwords as soon as you can.

You can manage Chrome’s safety and security with Safety Check. The security check looks for:

  • compromised passwords
  • safe browsing status
  • Chrome updates available

On a computer, Safety Check also looks for:

  • harmful extensions
  • Malware (Windows only)
  1. On your computer, open Chrome Chromium.
  2. At the top, click More Arrange and so settings .
  3. Click Privacy & Security .
  4. Under ‘Security verification’, select Verify now.
  5. If Chrome is having issues:
    1. Select the item with the problem.
    2. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Enable HTTPS mode first

Connections to sites that use HTTPS are more secure than those that do not. When you enable HTTPS-First mode, Chrome tries to load all sites over HTTPS and displays a warning before you visit a site that doesn’t support it.

  1. On your computer, open Chrome Chromium.
  2. At the top right, click More Arrange and so settings .
  3. On the left, click Privacy and security .
  4. Click Security .
  5. Enable Always use secure connections .

  1. En su computadora, abra Chrome Chromium.
  2. En la parte superior derecha, selecciona Más More and so configuraciones
  3. Haz clic en Privacidad y seguridad  and so Seguridad .
  4. Active  o desactive Usar DNS seguro .
